On this weeks Manuscript Monday Sarah recommends "The Song of Achilles" by Madeline Miller.

I always enjoy stories that include Greek mythology. I didn’t actually know that much about Achilles story other than his heel, which wasn’t mentioned in this book. Which makes it more realistic. Would he really be killed by a spear in the heal?? I liked that the story was narrated by Patroclus rather than Achilles. It created more of what others saw: the hero. Thetis his mother was created as a scary powerful sea nymph, which I think added to the story as well. My favourite part was with Chiron. But I know and love his mythology so maybe that’s why and how he was immune to Thetis motherly wrath, which it seemed as though he was the only one. I’d recommend, so much knowledge and an epic story. I cried at the end but don’t want to spoil it. The last sentence was perfection.
