Life Philosophy:

Freedom comes from responsibility; we are all students at the school of life; just one nurturing and buffering relationship with a caring and trusting individual in a safe environment can support our health and overall well-being in a positive way.

Life Experiences that are unique to you; that helped shaped who you are:

So many lessons learnt and yet, many more still to come! That said, two circumstances, in particular, greatly impacted my self development: moving a lot growing up and my time in the theatre. When I was young, my family moved a lot. We moved houses, changed cities and/or switched schools about once every 2 years until I was a teenager. In addition to this, my family also travelled – we’ve been across almost all of Canada, the States and have visited countries all around the world. Travelling and the moves were bittersweet. Beautiful because these experiences exposed me to different people, languages, cultures, religions, races, educational models, socio-economic statuses, etc. This provided me with opportunities to understand others, develop empathy and see how similar human beings are to each other, how we all love and want to be loved, have fears, want to be accepted, and how we bond over play and pain. But these moments were challenging too because my younger self struggled to understand unspoken rules on playgrounds and in neighbourhoods from place to place – some rules would always remain the same while others would change depending on the environment and the emotional landscape of the individuals who filled each space. As for the theatre, this is where I found my light; this is when I discovered possibility. Acting and drama showed me new realities as well as the process of moving from darkness to creation to manifestation to light – it gifted me the awareness of a rhythm within and around me, connected to and living in all things. The world of theatre not only provided me with a place to exercise my mutability in an effort to figure myself out, but it blessed me with hope; the idea that I might have a special gift to share with the world, a chance to be of service to others, a way of making magic.
