Manuscript Monday: The Crackwalker

On this weeks Manuscript Monday Kara recommends "The Crackwalker" by Judith Thompson.

This is a play that's written by my very first role model. To this day, I feel like the luckiest person in the world to have studied with Judith Thompson - a Canadian icon in the arts. She taught me so much about writing, storytelling and character development. She also showed me the beauty of symbolism. In this play, she uses the character of an Indigenous man as the embodiment of personal and social hopelessness - genius! She wasn't afraid to look at and show the dark parts of ourselves and our world, exposing the fracks of fragility in all of us.
