This week's Facts Friday Sarah shares a fact about the first Space music.
"Jingle Bells” became the first song played in space when, on 16 December 1965, it was broadcast during NASA’s Gemini 6A space flight. The song, written by James Lord Pierpont (USA) in 1857, was originally titled “One-Horse Open Sleigh".
And the first song performed in space was a Ukrainian song “I look up at the sky” (“Дивлюсь я на небо”) sang on 12 August 1962 by Pavlo Popovych, cosmonaut from Ukraine at a special request of Serhiy Korolyov.
