Sarah, describe yourself in high school and any specific memories that may define that time for you?

Shy, very shy. I had a friend from high school that I reconnected with after years of not speaking that said to me “you never spoke in high school and now you can’t stop”. It wasn’t an insult, but a reference to us not being able to let each other go because our conversation was so good.

But that was true, I was so afraid to say something wrong, embarrassing or “stupid” that I just didn’t say anything at all. Only in private conversations would I open up a little. Luckily for me I had a few people with strong personalities in my life that helped me open up and brought me along for the ride. If it wasn’t for my sister and my friends that loved me without condition, I’m sure I would still be that extremely shy girl.
