On this weeks Manuscript Monday Virginia recommends The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho.

Looking for a self-help book that isn’t written with cheesy analogies but rather with beautiful imagery told through a character that sets off to fulfill his personal journey? This book by Paulo Coelho is filled with existential lessons that will help you self-reflect on your life and question how you view what’s important in your life.

I just learned that this book holds the Guinness World Record for the most translated book by a living author and I’m not surprised in the least. Actually, au contraire, I would have thought with so many people around the globe reading this book, it could finally bring world peace. With everyone operating knowing what is really important in their lives to make them happy and fulfilled, no one would have the desire for hate or greed.

It is a novel that is beautiful in so many ways that will be unique to each individual reader. It is a quick read, which was nice in our busy lives and left me so very glad I did!
