On this weeks Manuscript Monday Virginia recommends "Normal People" by Sally Rooney.

If you haven't already read this book, nor saw the TV show, you must do both immediately! The novel is set around 2 characters in the UK that are woven together throughout their lives from high school to adulthood. Each character is both beautiful and flawed at different points in time and in their on-again, off-again relationship. The author poignantly shows the pains of navigating socially throughout school and how one's stature in life and socially can change over time. The feeling of not quite fitting in is front and center with these characters as is the draw that keeps pulling them together. It is often painful to see the ill-fated couple at times and as a reader there are times when you really aren't sure if you are lobbying for this couple to end up together. Enjoy this deeply moving book!
