Manuscript Monday: The Four Agreements

On this weeks Manuscript Monday Kara recommends The Four Agreements: A Toltec Wisdom Book” (1997) by Don Miguel Ruiz.

This book had been on my radar for years, but there always seemed to be something that would come up or lead me away from getting this book in my hands and reading it - until one day. "How strange," I thought at the time, "that the moment to finally read this book is now here." I loved it. The timing was indeed correct - I was at a place in my life where I had space to practice the agreements. The third agreement of "don't make assumptions" spoke to me the loudest - the author put into words how much pain and suffering come from unexpressed expectations, something that I understood to be true but hadn't had a language for previously, but he helped me name it.
