Manuscript Monday: Don't Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late

"But my favourite parts of this book is the colour way and tactile feel of the pages."

On this weeks Manuscript Monday Lia recommends "Don't Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late!" by Mo Willems.

This fabulous find is such a fun book. Easy read, easy story. Great for kiddos to start identifying words they know. Also the topics right in line with what's going on in a kids life of a certain age. ie; bath time, going to school, etc... But my favourite parts of this book is the colour way and tactile feel of the pages. Subtle colour transitions of creams, blushes and soft rusty oranges and pinks. Even a dull mustard mixed with every tone of sea foam to blue/grey. The paper is matte and slightly scratchy. Matched with overly simplistic charcoal lined illustration. It is a pleasure to read.
