On this weeks Manuscript Monday Lia recommends The BFG by Roald Dahl, Illustrated by Quentin Blake.
I am currently reading this book to my five-year-old child. It's a long hall. So, the hook is watching the movie when we're finished.
Roald Dahl has so many amazing books with stories that fill the mind. This is no different. It hardly needs illustrations at all. The language is as though Mr. Dahl is in fact still a child. The frenetic sounding and spelling of giant language is so cute and clever. That being said, Quentin Blake's rough and loose illustration are a classic pairing and add just enough to make it a story for any age group.
