The first plant species discovered in 2022 was named after actor Leonardo DiCaprio. “Scientists at the Royal Botanic Gardens in London discovered a tropical tree from Cameron and named it Uvariopsis dicaprio, honouring Leonardo DiCaprio for his environmental work, especially his help in saving the rainforest where the tree was found.” - ZME Science
