Manuscript Monday: The Vagina Bible

On this weeks Manuscript Monday Meredith recommends The Vagina Bible: The vulva and the vagina--separating the myth from the medicine by Dr. Jen Gunter

This book is exactly what the title implies—it is a comprehensive guide to all things vagina from Dr. Jen Gunter, OB/GYN. Every house should have a copy of this book on the shelf. Do you know what a clitoris looks like? I thought I knew, too. I was wrong—an I have one!

Great information aside, Gunter is a pleasure to read. She is a bit cheeky, witty, and has a frank writing style. This book is a stark contrast to the normal hushed tones and misinformation that plagues women’s health. The book focussed primarily on the vagina, and while it would be nice to have more body parts covered, it would make for too long a book.

If you have a vagina or have someone close to you that does, check out this book. Educate yourself. You’re bound to learn something.
